Hill Climb
Hill Climbing are one of the oldest, and most famous, types of racing in the world. By principle, it is organized with the same methods as speed tests in that there is a starting point, a finishing point, and each competitor will be timed between these points.
However, unlike speed tests, Hill Climbing isn’t organized in a closed circuit, but on an asphalt mountain road, with the starting point at the bottom of the hill, and the finishing point at the top of the hill.
The Syrian Speed and Hill Climb Championship was one of the most famous in the Middle East region. Hill Climbing started in Syria, organized by the Syrian Automobile Club, at the Barbaris Hill. The most famous challenge was the Shirobim Hill Climb, as well as the Lattakia Mountains Hill Climb which was held in 2010.
